A new tree comes to Embarcadero

It was a night of Wind and Darkness.

During what must have been a wild night partying, an unknown driver veered onto the sidewalk in front of the shop and knocked down the tree that had graced our entrance.

Dr. Mike arrived early in the AM and found the tree fallen (below).

In an effort to pull the tree from the road Dr. Mike fell, injuring himself and was sent to the hospital via a red ambulance.

All that was left was a hole (bottom right).

So, in one morning we lost our much-loved tree and one of our owners.

Fast Foward a few months and Dr. Mike is mended.

Peter consulted with the San Francisco Friends of the Urban Forest (SFFUF) about our hole.

After much discussion a new tree was brought and planted (right).

It is nice to have some green among the SOMA urban landscape.
