Winter 2006 Recipe Contest

Winter has been rainy and raw, with pacific storms constantly crashing our shores. We are trying to find ways to warm our souls.

In that spirit, we are announcing a contest for the best winter recipes, to turn a cold winter day into warmth. Email or Snail mail us your best recipe, and we will publish the 10 best in our next e-news, with the winner's recipe listed first; the winner will receive an Embarcadero Automotive gift certificate, worth $50 the next time you visit us for SAAB service.

As inspiration, check out Robert Sankey, right and other photos of Robert, one of our mechanics and a great cook, as he prepares his famous barbeque ribs for a recent Embarcadero Automotive lunch. It certainly gave each of us a warm and satisfied feeling.

Jerry and the band belted out those words to their famous song, Truckin, at about the time Peter MacLaird and Michael Land founded Embarcadero Automotive, at its original location on Brannan St in the 70's. That was Brannan St before the SOMA revolution.

Brannan St led to a move to 3rd street for the 80's and part of the 90's, before the boys headed in 1994 to Sansome St and North Beach for the last 10 years.
