Tips to Winterize your SAAB

Winterputs many stresses on your SAAB; To make sure it navigates those trips home from work during one of those windy Pineapple Express rain storms or plows through snow on the way to Tahoe, we have tips on how to winterize your SAAB.

You have a choice; Come into our facility and give Dr. Mike's head a kiss for good luck with your SAAB, as Tess is doing in the photo at right, or implement the following list of tips:

  1. Make sure your anti-freeze is still protecting your engine; Anti-freeze gets weak over time, with most people only adding water to the radiator.
  2. Put together a survival kit in your trunk, including Flashlight with new batteries, Flares, 2 gal of water, 2 blankets, tool kit with hammer, pliers, screw driver.
  3. Check your Tires; Make sure you have a tire guage($2), to check your tires for the recommended air. Also check the wear on the tread; bald tires have a hard time in inclement weather, and are more succeptible to blow outs.
  4. Check your Windshield Wipers; These are critical for excellent visability.
  5. Check your Engine Hoses; When you are going up hills, the hoses are under tremendous pressure.

The best way to winterize your SAAB is to make an appointment, and let one of our mechanics, such as Johnny at right, look over your SAAB to make sure it is fully winterized.
